Jesus prays in John 17:20-21,
“I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me."
The church of Christ is called to be one as Jesus and His Father are one. This is a high calling! If Banff Park Church is your home or you are interested in making this your home, members commit to grow in the following biblical mandates that promote this oneness:
I confess Jesus Christ to be my Lord and Savior in the presence of all. I give myself whole heartedly to His service and take His word as the guide for my life. Having been united by saving faith to Him, I now, unite with my fellow believers locally under Christ.
I will maintain regular private prayer and reading of God’s word, earnestly seeking the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit. (1 Timothy 4:16, 1 Thessalonians 5:17, 1 Corinthians 2:12-13, 2 Corinthians 3:3 and Galatians 5:22)
I will maintain Christian standards and devotions in my home and will endeavor to lead my children, or others committed into my charge, to faith in Jesus Christ and growth in the Christian life. (Joshua 24:15)
I will regularly attend the public worship of God, as far as providence permits, and I will observe together with the church the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper. (Hebrews 10:25 and 1 Corinthians 11:17-34)
I will walk in brotherly love and seek to be a practical help and encouragement to others. (Romans 12:8-10)
I will not bring to church a complaint against any member for personal offence until I have taken the first two steps pointed out by Christ in Mt.18. In this manner I will endeavor to settle all private offences without making the matter a public issue. (Matthew 18:15-17 and Philippians 2:3-4)
I will faithfully support this ministry as a gifted member of this local body: prayerfully, practically and financially, as the Lord leads me. (Romans 12:3-8, 1 Corinthians 12, Ephesians 4, 2 Corinthians 8:1-15; 9:6-7)
I will endeavor to live an authentic Christian life in true Godliness, abstaining from anything that is unworthy of Christ and His gospel. (1 Thessalonians 5:17 and Romans 14:21)
I confess that believers baptism signifies death to sin and resurrection to holiness, and so I will seek to walk in newness of life for God’s glory. (2 Corinthians 5:17 and Romans 6)
I will seek by personal example and spoken word to lead people to faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. I will also seek to support Gospel around the whole world. (1 Corinthians 11:1 and Matthew 28:18-20)
